We appreciate your willingness to discuss your concerns. As you may have noticed, clearing, drilling and sampling activities have begun at the site. In conjunction with the initiation of this investigation at the abandoned facility, EPA officials also will be conducting a health screening program in the community. The purpose of this program is to determine if the affected community exhibits any health effects related to the contaminants found at the site. The results of this health screening program will be made available to the participants and any other interested parties. Attached is a fact sheet prepared by EPA which further explains the nature of the contamination and the need for the remedial investigation.
