RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTER

The undersigned does hereby certify that the following is a true

and exact copy of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the

College of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on June 17,

1984, as recorded in the Minutes of said meeting.



RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN EASTERN CARIBBEAN

CENTER AT THE COLLEGE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS



WHEREAS it is the desire of the College of the Virgin

Islands to serve as a Center for educationd, cultural, scientific

and technical interchange with the Eastern Caribbean, and in

recognition of the fact that benefits would accrue to the Eastern

Caribbean as well as to the United States from this endeavor, and

in view of the fact that the Government of the United States

awarded a planning grant to the College for the development of

this project;



AND WHEREAS the College has further requested from the

Government of the United States a grant to implement the first

phase of the project,



NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the President is

authorized to organize an entity to be known as "The Eastern

Caribbean Center." The Center shall facilitate the exchange

of information and other assistance on educational, cultural,

scientific, and technical matters concerning the Eastern

Caribbean region and the United States.
