Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 2 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, section 6 is amended by inserting

“the Police Chief of the Legislature; the Sergeant-of-Arms of the Legislature; or any security 
3 
officer of the Legislature; who has peace officer status, or by” after “arrested by”.

BILL SUMMARY

This bill amends title 2 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, section 6 by allowing, in addition

to any member of the territorial Police Force, the Police Chief of the Legislature; the Sergeant-
7 
of-Arms of the Legislature; or any security officer of the Legislature; who has peace officer 
8 
status, to arrest a person who neglects or refuses to appear before the Legislature in obedience 
9 
to subpoena.
