Be it enacted by the Colonial Council for St. Croix in Session assembled.-- . THAT the unexpended balance of funds appropriated under main- tenance for t?le department of Public Instruction for the fiscal year 1918--19 shall be available to pay for school books, m&os and other similar equipment, contract- ed for during the said fiscal year but not delivered before the expi- ration thereof, it being expressly understood that this authorization is limited to the purpose above mentioned and that no change in classification of the books, maps etc.; from equipment to mainten- ance is intended.
