Human Services Announces Temporary Closure to Mars Hill Offices 
due to lack of running water at facilities 
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (VIDHS), is advising the 
community that due to WAPA water pump issues affecting the town of Frederiksted, St. Croix the  
DHS Mars Hill Administrative Building and DHS Senior Citizen Affairs Administration Office, both 
located at Mars Hill,  Frederiksted will be closing this Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11:00 am 
due to a lack of running water at the facilities.  
This closure will affect: The Division of Senior Citizen Affairs Office, the Division of Family Assistance, 
(SNAP, LIHEAP, LIWAP, TANF/JOBS) and the Medicaid Division. Please be advised, all 
appointments this afternoon have been canceled and rescheduled. For assistance, please 
contact the following division staff during this temporary interruption:
