With the graduation of the 112th Session of the FBI National 
Academy on 3/24/78, there are now 11, 902 graduates. A review of the 
status of our graduates shows the following: 
7,732 are actively engaged in law enforcement, and 4, el are no 
longer actively engaged in law enforcement. 
Of the 7,732 in law enforcement, the following are occupying 
position of heads of their agencies: 
917 are chiefs of police 
189 are sheriffs 
_ 
15 are heads of state police organizations 
100 others hold positions as heads of their agency. 
This gives us a:total of 1,221 graduates occupying the top executive 
position of their agencies, or approximately one out of every six 
holds the position of executive head of his agency. 
FOREIGN OFFICER PARTICIPANTS 
Since the inception of the National Academy, there have been 
465 graduates from 57 different foreign countries. 
One hundred and four 
law enforcement agencies have been represented. 
U.S. TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS 
There have been a total of 115 graduates from American 
Samoa, Canal Zone, Guam, Puerto Rico, Saipan (Northern Marianas) 
and the Virgin Islands, making a grand total of 580 graduates from outside 
the United States. 
The current class (113th Session) consists of 248 law enforce- 
ment officers representing 49 states, Puerto Rico, and five foreign 
countries. 
The class started with 250 students; however, one student had 
to return home because of a critical illness in his immediate family and 
one other student withdrew from the class in order to accept appointment 
to the position of FBI Special Agent. 
The five foreign countries 
represented in this class are Brunei, Canada, Egypt, Malaysia and the 
Philippines. 
Additionally, the class is represented by students from the 
Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Marshals Service, Uniformed Division of 
Secret Service, U.S. Park Police, 
.U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Army 
Criminal Investigation Command, U.S. Army Military Intelligence, U.S, 
Army Military Police Corps, U.S. Air Force Security Police and U.S. 
Marine Corps Military Police.

This class includes four female police officers from the 
following agencies: 
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles 
Police Department, University of Florida Police Department in Gainesville, 
Florida, and Nassau County Police Department in Mineola, New York.
