In my capacity as Chair of the Committee on Culture, Youth, Aging, Sports, and Parks (C.Y.A.S.P.), I am 
pleased to invite you to testify at an upcoming legislative hearing scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at 
10:00 AM, in the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall, St. Thomas. 
Your testimony has been scheduled in BLOCK II: Elder Abuse Response Reform, which will review Bill No. 
36-0099, legislation proposing amendments to Title 34, Chapter 15 of the Virgin Islands Code to strengthen our 
territory’s capacity to prevent, identify, and respond to elder abuse. We welcome your insights on AARP’s 
advocacy work, data resources, and national best practices that can inform this important policy discussion. 
In addition, you are invited to participate in BLOCK III, a policy discussion on CMS Certification for Senior 
Living Facilities, focusing on our current status, federal requirements, and steps toward Medicare and Medicaid 
eligibility.
