RESOLUTION



WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin

Islands ("University") has established the status of Trustee

Emeritus; and



WHEREAS, Dr. Howard Jones has been a trustee of the University

of the Virgin Islands since 1962; and



WHEREAS, Trustee Jones’ term of office as a trustee has

expired; and



WHEREAS, Dr. Howard Jones has completed 31 years of service to

the institution, has lent his vision to the University, and has

otherwise made significant contributions to its growth while

serving as a member of the Board of Trustees; and



WHEREAS, during Dr. Jones’ tenure on the Board, he has been



faithful and diligent in his participation in the activities of the

Board of Trustees,



NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the

University of the Virgin Islands hereby commends Dr. Howard L.

Jones for his many years of exemplary service to the University;

and



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, in recognition of his many years of

meritorious service that Dr. Howard. L. Jones be granted the status

of Trustee Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of the University of

the Virgin Islands with all the rights and privileges appurtenant

thereto.
