An act extending the deadlines for the Sixth Constitutional Convention of the Virgin Islands

and appropriating funding for the convention



PROPOSED BY: Senator Kurt A. Vialet



Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1. Act No. 8681, as amended by Act No. 8734, is further amended as follows:

(a) In section 6, subsection (a), strike “October 31, 2025” and insert “February 28,

2027”;

(b) Insection 7:

(1) subsection (b):

(A) _ strike “May 1, 2026” and insert “April 1, 2027”;

(B) before the last sentence in the paragraph insert “The Constitutional

Convention shall establish July 3, 2027, as the date for the referendum.”.

(2) subsection (c), strike “March 31, 2027” and insert “January 31, 2028; and

(3) subsection (d)(3), strike “March 31, 2025” and insert “January 31, 2028”.

SECTION 2. Act No. 9035, section 1 is amended as follows:

(a) On page 15, In GRAND TOTAL GENERAL FUND, strike “738,601,274” and

insert “738,801,274”;



(b) On page 21, insert the following new line item:
