Law, provides:
““All children
must
attend
school
“from the beginning
of the school year
“nearest
their
sixth
birthday,
and
“‘they
shall
continue
to
atiend
school
“yegularly until the
close
of the school
“vear after
their
fifteenth
bhirthday.”’
All children
six
years
of
age,
or over,
(provided
they
have
not
already
been
dismissed
from school),
must
be
present
in their respective
schoois
at
830
a.
m.
on the above
date.
Non-attendance,
ex-
cept for
legitimate
cause,
is
purishable
by
fines
Imposed
on
parents
or
guar-
dians.
Children
who
will
rot
bave
attained
the age
of six yeurs
by
August
13, 1943,
but
who
will
beeome
six
years
of age
kefore
February
13,
1924,
must
aiso
Le
enrolled
on Angust
13,
1923.
No child,
except
in ithe
case
of a
new
arrival in the island,
will be
admitted
to
school
after
October
1,
1923, unless
he
can show
fitness
to
undertake
the
work
of
a class
already established.
