R. 53 AN ACT To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to enter into a long-term lease with the Government of the United States Virgin Islands to provide land on the island of Saint John, Virgin Islands, for the establishment of a school, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 2 •HR 53 EH SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Virgin Islands Na- 2 tional Park School Lease Act’’. 3 SEC. 2. LONG-TERM LEASE, VIRGIN ISLANDS NATIONAL 4 PARK, SAINT JOHN, VIRGIN ISLANDS. 5 (a) LEASE AUTHORIZED.—The Secretary of the Inte- 6 rior may lease to the Government of the United States 7 Virgin Islands a parcel of real property, including any im- 8 provements thereon, located within the boundaries of Vir- 9 gin Islands National Park on the island of Saint John, 10 Virgin Islands, as depicted on the map entitled ‘‘Virgin 11 Islands National Park School Exchange’’, numbered 161/ 12 80,037, and dated September 19, 2007, for the purpose 13 of providing a suitable location for the establishment of 14 a school by the Government of the United States Virgin 15 Islands on the island. 16 (b) TERM OF LEASE.—The lease authorized by sub- 17 section (a) may not exceed a term of 99 years. 18 (c) AVAILABILITY OF MAP.—The map referred to in 19 subsection (a) shall be on file and available for public in- 20 spection in the appropriate offices of the National Park 21 Service. 22 (d) ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS.—The 23 Secretary may require such additional terms and condi- 24 tions in connection with the lease under this section as 25 3 •HR 53 EH the Secretary considers appropriate to protect the inter- 1 ests of the United States. 2 Passed the House of Representatives October 22, 2007.
