FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GOVERNOR MAPP FILLS POSITIONS ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR THE TERRITORY (St. Thomas, July 22, 2015) Governor Kenneth E Mapp requested the prompt and favorable consideration of several nominees from the 31st Legislature, this past week. The Governor reappointed Attorney Henry C. Smock and nominated Mr. Andrew Farkas, Mr. Steven Lilly and Ms. Oran Bowry to the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees. Mr. Avery Challenger, a St. John resident was nominated to the VI Taxicab Commission. Mr. Bhagwandeen Persad has been nominated to the Board of Governors of the Virgin Islands Port Authority for the District of St. Thomas Two nominees were submitted for the Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority; Mr. Joe Hollins, representing the district of St. Croix and Mr. Harith Wickrema, representing the district of St. John.
