A BILL 
To direct the Secretary of the Interior to install a plaque 
at the peak of Ram Head in the Virgin Islands National 
Park on St. John, United States Virgin Islands, to com-
memorate the slave rebellion that began on St. John 
in 1733. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. INSTALLATION OF PLAQUE COMMEMORATING

SLAVE REBELLION ON ST. JOHN. 
4
(a) IN GENERAL.—Not later than 1 year after the 
5
date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the 
6
Interior shall install, in an appropriate location in the area 
7

(b) CONTENTS OF PLAQUE.—The plaque installed 
6
under subsection (a) shall include information regarding— 
7
(1) important facts about the slave rebellion 
8
that began on St. John in 1733; 
9
(2) the collective suicide that occurred during 
10
the slave rebellion in the vicinity of Ram Head on 
11
St. John in 1734; and 
12
(3) the significance of the slave rebellion to the 
13
history of St. John, the United States Virgin Is-
14
lands, and the United States.
