we
hope
to
carry
out
an
extensive
road
program
this
vear
and
we will need
some
money
to help
us
along,

we intend
to
propose
to
bud-
get
some
money
lor
these
road
repairs
before
we pass
this
budget,
and it would
be necessary
to change
the amount
under
Income Tax unless
Government
agrees
to
meet
the amount.

exceeds

budget for

year,
yet this
appears

cost of all
articles

increased,

further,
it

found

cessary
to expand
in some
departments.
Revenue
Taxes
-With
regard
to
In-
come
Tax,
Government
sees
that
the
estimate
on
Income
Tax
is iow, but
that
was
made early
in
the
year
andi.

not
krown

whether
the 2% Surtax
would
be collected
or not.
Excise Duty—Tha
was left out,
due
to
the fact,
that
when
the budget
was
pre
pared
Government
did not
know whether
there
would be
any excise
duty collected,
but iii any
case
excise duty will be eollect-
ed
and
lif not
seen
on
tne budser
it will
be placed
in the
Treasury
all the
same.

With regard
to Dentist

Hospitals,

believes
that
the service
of the Municipal Dentist
is very
desirable;
the purpose
is

clinic
at the
Hospitals.
He will not be paid full salary,
and
there-
tore,
will be allowed private practice.

Public Libraries—The remark
is aston-
ishing.

is necessary

we
believe it is
true
here;

decide
whether
it

library

be borne
in mind
