WHEN YOUR LIVESTOCK’S OUT 
STANDING IN THE GUT, THEY’RE 
NOT JUST COOLING OFF. 
When animal waste falls into guts and ponds it can 
wash into the sea or seep into groundwater. Imagine 
how many cows, goats, sheep and pigs are on our is-
lands and you can see how much animal waste can pol-
lute our beaches and aquifers. You can help solve this 
problem – keep your animals fenced out of guts and 
ponds and provide them with extra water and shade.
