lead

Harbor

best
and
safest

the
West
Indies.

that
things
will be
looking
very bright indeed
for St.
Thomas
short-
ly
and
everyone
ought
to
have
their
minds
centered
on
the shipping, which in
all probability
will make
the
islend
the
leading
commercial
centre
of the
West
Indies.
Already the Emergency
Fleet
Corpora-
tion
is perfecting
the
former
Hambury
American Line Wharf for their steamers.
The Royal Mail Company
is about
to ex-
tend
their
wharf.
The
Anglo-Mexican
Company
has
leased
little
Krum
Bay
which
will give
an
easy
ingress
and
egress
to their
lines
of steamers.
More
extension
is yet to
follow.
All persons—especially
laborers—who
are natives
of the Virgin
Islands
ought
to get themselves
ready for the good pro-
spective
future
of
the
island,
for it is
only when
the harbor
shows
life then
all
is happy,
whether
laborer
or not.
Now
is your
time
to
make
money
by honest
work anc keep
out foreign
labor,
male
or
female.
Secure
your little corner
stores
or shops
in time and be ready
to
co-oper-
ate
in the movement.
It is impossible
for Porto
Rico
to com-
pete
with uvs in this
respeect
as the
Uni-
ted
States
Shipping
Board
has
already
from just comparison
concluded
that
St.
Thomas
from its position
must
be
a prin-
cipal
leading
port
of
call.
Every
one
ought
to happily interest
himself
in this
matter
and
help
towards
a
successful
issue.

turning
up our way and

add

are likely
