Board of Trustees Resolution



PURPOSE: To approve the continuation of the Committee on Trustees for a one year trial

period.



WHEREAS, there is value in having a Committee on Trustees, and



WHEREAS, the Association of Governing Boards has indicated that there a number of areas that

a committee on Trustees could address and these areas are appropriate

parameters from which to define the scope of the UVI Committee on Trustees.



NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Trustees approve the continuation of

the Committee on Trustees for a one year trial period, and



The Committee addresses the scope as listed below:



¢ Design of the Board composition — develop guidelines of types of Trustees needed on



the Board

¢ Development/ management of a new trustee orientation program — improve training and



support of trustees

¢ Assessment of Trustee performance — develop framework of how to evaluate trustees;



develop criteria rating, and



FURTHER RESOLVED by the end of the year, the Board will decide whether to further continue

the life of the committee as a standing or temporary committee.

Board of trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on October 18,

2003 and recorded in the minutes of said meeting.
