An Act providing an appropriation of $500,000 from the Education Initiative Fund in the fiscal 
year ending September 30, 2024, to the Department of Education, Division of Curriculum and 
Instruction, for final editing and proofing of customized Virgin Islands History textbooks, 
printing hardcover editions of the customized Virgin Islands History textbooks, and for the 
completion of kindergarten through eighth grade Social Studies curriculum

Be it resolved by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  (a) The sum of 500,000 is appropriated in the fiscal year ending September 
2 
30, 2024, from the Education Initiative Fund to the Virgin Islands Department of Education, 
3 
Division of Curriculum and Instruction for the following purposes: 
4 
(a) 
$75,000 for final editing and proofing of the customized Virgin Islands History 
5 
textbooks for grades three through eighth.  
6 
(b) 
$375,000 for the printing of the customized hardcover Virgin Islands History 
7 
textbook editions for kindergarten through eighth grade.  
8 
(c) 
$50,000 for the completion of kindergarten through eighth grades Social Studies 
9 
curriculum development initiative.
