GOVERNMENT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES PUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION IN RE: Docket No. 630 ADVANCE POWER, LLC’S APPLICATION FOR Order No. 2/2017 QUALIFIED FACILITY CERTIFICATION el cath etl ellie all ORDER WHEREAS, on June 27, 2014, the Virgin Islands Public Services Commission (hereinafter “PSC” or the “Commission”) received and Application from Advance Power, LLC (hereinafter “Advance Power’) seeking certification as a Qualifying Facility (hereinafter “QF”) at Bovoni Point, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, on August 26, 2014, the Virgin Islands Public Services Commission held a Special Meeting in both its offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands, at which the Commission APPROVED Advance Power’s Application for certification as a Qualifying Facility at Bovoni Point, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands in PSC Order 56/2014; and WHEREAS, on November 2, 2016, Advance Power submitted a report to the Commission on the progress of Advance Power’s wind energy project proposal to build an onshore wind turbine installation of up to 10.8 megawatts for the Virgin Water and Power Authority to be located at Bovoni Point, St. Thomas; and WHEREAS, on November 3, 2016, the Commission held a Special Meeting in both its offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, after review and deliberation the Commission voted to GRANT an extension for a period of one (1) year and that Advance Power continue to submit progress reports to the Commission every three (3) months; and NOW THEREFORE, the Commission finds and ORDERS: 1. An extension for Advance Power LLC’s QF certification is GRANTED for a period one (1) year. 2. The certification will expire one year from November 3, 2016, unless extended by the Commission. 3. Advance Power must submit quarterly progress reports to the Commission regarding the ongoing progress and status of Advance Power. So Ordered.
