Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 9, subchapter I, section 304 is

amended by adding the following subsection (l):

“(l) The Commissioner may physically close a business when it finds that the 
4 
business is causing a nuisance, presents a threat to safety or is disturbing the peace.

BILL SUMMARY

This bill amends title 27, chapter 9, subchapter I, section 304 of the Virgin Islands Code 
7 
to authorize the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs to physically close a business 
8 
when it finds that the business is causing a nuisance, presents a threat to safety or is disturbing
