Joseph Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 9, subchapter I, section 304 is 2 amended by adding the following subsection (l): 3 “(l) The Commissioner may physically close a business when it finds that the 4 business is causing a nuisance, presents a threat to safety or is disturbing the peace. 5 BILL SUMMARY 6 This bill amends title 27, chapter 9, subchapter I, section 304 of the Virgin Islands Code 7 to authorize the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs to physically close a business 8 when it finds that the business is causing a nuisance, presents a threat to safety or is disturbing 9 the peace. 10 BR25-0520/April 25, 2025/AA 11
