WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands has adopted a policy regarding the

granting of menit increases to current full-time employees of the University; and



WHEREAS, the President is a current full-time employee of the University;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:



RESOLVED that the President of the University shall receive a merit

award, covering the period from Fiscal Year 199] to 1998, based on an

exceptional rating during this period, in accordance with the terms of his contract,

which entitles him to receive the same salary adjustments as are available

gencrally to the faculty, administrative and staff employees of the University, and

in accordance with the University’s policy to award merit increases to deserving

full-time employees.



And it is further



RESOLVED, that this Resolution take effect immediately upon its

adoption. The President and Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs are

> hereby authorized to take such action as may be necessary to implement this

Resolution.

The undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of the resolution

of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on

Saturday, March 6, 1999, as recorded in the minutes of said meeting.
