MARTINEZ 773-1994 / FAX 773-1858 / rimartinez@vidol.gov Thursday, July 30, 2015 DOL ANNOUNCES OSHA SAFETY TRAINING FOR TEMPORARY WORKERS Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) Commissioner-Designee Catherine Hendry, is pleased to announce that the VIDOL Division of Occupational Safety and Health in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico – Medical Science Campus will be providing a no-cost three- hour OSHA safety training class for public/private sector TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES in the General and Construction Industries in both districts. The OSHA training is being provided as a requirement of an OSHA Susan Harwood Training Grant. The training will cover the areas of Workers’ Legal Rights (OSHA based), Hazard Communication and Fall Protection.
