DOL ANNOUNCES OSHA SAFETY TRAINING FOR TEMPORARY WORKERS 
 
Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) Commissioner-Designee Catherine Hendry, is 
pleased to announce that the VIDOL Division of Occupational Safety and Health in collaboration 
with the University of Puerto Rico – Medical Science Campus will be providing a no-cost three-
hour OSHA safety training class for public/private sector TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES in the 
General and Construction Industries in both districts.  The OSHA training is being provided as a 
requirement of an OSHA Susan Harwood Training Grant.  
 
The training will cover the areas of Workers’ Legal Rights (OSHA based), Hazard Communication 
and Fall Protection. The schedule is as follows: 
 
 
August 11, 2015—St. Croix 
Location: Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort & Spa 
Time: 9:00 am-12:00 pm & 1:00 pm-4:00 pm 
August 13, 2015—St Thomas 
Location: Windward Passage Hotel 
Time: 9:00 am-12:00 pm  & 1:00 pm-4:00 pm
