ADJUSTMENT IN THE ACADEMIC CALENDAR (Board of Trustees Meeting, March 21, 1971) The Board then turned its attention to the President's report of the Conference Group meeting which had been held on March 5. The first item referred to was the students’ request that the ecademic calendar be moved up, with the fall semester beginning in late August and ending before the Christmas holidays. Final exams would then be over before Christmas vacation and a new semester would begin when students returned from their holiday. The spring semester would extend from the first part of January to late May. Several aspects of this proposal were discussed, including the relationship of the College's calendar to that of the public and private school systems in the Virgin Islands. A final decision concerning this question was left to the faculty. [For the action of the faculty, see the Minutes of the Faculty Meeting held on March 25, 1971./ oL
