1. Question: ‘Line item 45 and 47 states to replace 34 pairs of shutters on each item making the

Total 68 Pairs of shutters. Is the total amount 68 pairs of shutters or 34 pairs of shutters?



“Remove and replace approximately thirty-four (34) wooden shutters and hardware.” Thus, the

Statements are referencing to single and not pairs.



2. Line item 54 to do mold testing. I will be charged on the amount of tests done thru out

The building. Do you know how many areas need to be tested (10, 20 or 30 air quality tests)?



Answer: Item No. 54 should now read “Perform 20 samples of Indoor Air Quality

Testing of the entire building and provide those results to owner or owner's

Representative”.



3. Question: Line item 55 perform remediation of the entire building. Once the air quality

samples are done and we have gotten the results then we will be able to put a scope of work

together to do the meditation. At This point we do not know the causes of the mold if it is roof

leaks, wall leaks, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, window sills etc. I would suggest that this item be

taken out and do as a change order after the mold test report.



Answer: Remove item No. 55 as suggested by the question at hand. Anticipate this item to be

better T&G with ‘V’ groove, treated to ground contact and dried after treatment.



Prior to assembly, all six (6) sides of each 1” x 6” shall be painted with an approved oil base



primer sealer to prevent water penetration.



All fasteners use in the assembly of the shutters shall be stainless steel.

The following Scope of Work includes but not limited to repairs to Athalie McFarlane

Petersen Public Library located at Fedricksted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.



Existing Conditions:



Presently, the Athalie McFarlane Petersen Public Library is suffering from water infiltration

which is causing deterioration to the facility.



Proposed Scope:



The intention of this project is to stop the infiltration of the water which will resolve or cease the

deterioration of the facility.

CONTRACTOR’S BID SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED IF ITEMIZED BID SHEET IS NOT

FULLY COMPLETED WITH BOTH UNIT AND MATERIAL AND LABOR COSTS FOR

ALL ITEMS.



THE QUANTITIES NOTED BELOW ARE NOT NECESSARILY EXACT, AND THE

ITEMS NOTED DO NOT NECESSARILY MAKE UP ALL THE WORK REQUIRED, OR

NOTED IN THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR THE COMPLETE MITIGATION

EFFORTS TOWARD THE REPAIRS TO THE LIBRARY FACILITY. THE

CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING A TOTAL LUMP SUM

COST FOR THE COMPLETE REPAIRS OF MATERIAL AND LABOR FOR THE

PRICES BEEN SUBMITTED FOR WORK TO BE DONE SHALL INCLUDE THE

CONTRACTOR’S OVERHEAD TAXES AND PROFIT ALONG WITH ALL COSTS FOR

MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND MANPOWER NECESSARY TO FACILITATE

PROPER, SAFE, AND TIMELY COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT.



UNIT PRICES SUBMITTED ON THE ITEMIZED BID SHEET SHALL BE UTILIZED

FOR ANY CREDITS OR DEBITS TO THE PROJECT; WHICH, IF NECESSARY, SHALL

BE ADDRESSED AS A CHANGE ORDER TO THE PROJECT.
