AN ORDINANCE
To
Regulate
Commerce
In
Intoxicating
Laquors And Drugs.
Be
it
enacted
by
the
Colonial
Council for St. Croix in session
as-
sembled:
1.
Hereafter
no spirituous,
vin-
ous
or malt liquor
or drug
shall be
sold or given away,
other than
rum
for export, except under and in
ac-
cordance
-with
such regulations
as
may be
issued
by the Governor and
consented
to by the Municipal
Com-
mittee,
and the Governor is hereby
authorized
to
issue
regulations
to
limit, restrict, regulate,
license,
pre-
scribe
fees and control all commerce
in intoxicating liquors, and drugs in
St. Croix, other than rum for export
and
the
Municipal
Committee
is
hereby
authorized
to
consider
and
to consent
to such regulations,

The
penalty
for violation
of
this Ordinance
or of any duly issued
regulation
shall
ke by
fine of
not
more
than
franes
One thousand
or
by
imprisonment
not
more
than
one hundred
and
eighty days
or by
both such
fine and imprisonment
in
the discretionof

a good price
on liquor and
let the

man

reasonable.
