Intervention Fund ”

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1. Title 33, chapter 111, section 3091, Virgin Islands Code, “ The

Crisis Intervention Fund” is amended by hereby deferring the implementation of



subsection (b) in the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2001.



EXPLANATION



Subsection (b), title 33, chapter 111, Virgin Islands Code provides for annual

appropriations from the Internal Revenue Matching Fund and the Caribbean Basin

Initiative Fund. The Internal Revenue Matching Fund will not yield sufficient revenues to

sustain the annual appropriation to the Crisis Intervention Fund, as well as cover the debt

service, including the refunding of the 1994 St. Croix Economic Development Bonds and

other issues, within the 1998 series A through B Bonds. Likewise, The Caribbean Basin

Initiative Fund wiil not yield sufficient revenues to sustain the annual appropriation to the

Crisis Intervention Fund, to cover the debt service, as well as cover the contribution to

the General Fund.
