Man Arrested After Firearm Was Observed During Inspection 
 
St. Thomas, USVI - On Sunday, February 5, 2023, at approximately 5:12 p.m., the Virgin 
Islands Police Department Operation Clean Sweep Task Force Officers received notification 
from 911 that a black male operating a gray Honda SUV had brandished a firearm and then 
placed the firearm inside the vehicle. Upon arrival at the Lima Shopping Plaza, officers made 
contact with Mr. Jerome Jeffers and conducted a visual inspection of the vehicle he was 
operating, they observed marijuana and a firearm in plain view.  
Mr. Jerome Jeffers, 39-years-old, was placed under arrest and was charged with Constructive 
Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute. 
Mr. Jeffers bail was set at $75,000.00. Unable to post bail he was remanded to the Bureau of 
Corrections pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
