An Act amending title 20 Virgin Islands Code, part II, chapter 38, section 425(a) relating to an 
increase in the motor vehicle rental surcharge, and title 33 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 111, 
section 3002 relating to increased funding in the District Public Road Fund

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 20 Virgin Islands Code, part II, chapter 38, section 425 is amended

as follows:

(a) 
in subsection (a) by striking “$3.75” wherever it appears and inserting “$5.00”; and  
4 
(b) 
in subsection (d) by inserting “, $1.25 into the “General Fund of the Treasury of 
5 
the Government of the Virgin Islands”, after the first instance of “code”.

BILL SUMMARY

This bill increases the motor vehicle rental surcharge and deposits the additional $1.25 
8 
into the respective Public Road Account.
