To amend title 46, United States Code, to exempt from
inspection certain small passenger vessels that operate
in waters of the United States only in the Virgin Islands.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. EXEMPTION FROM INSPECTION FOR CERTAIN
3
SMALL PASSENGER VESSELS THAT OPERATE
4
ONLY IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS.

Section 3302 of title 46, United States Code, is
6
amended by adding at the end the following:

‘‘(n) A small passenger vessel that operates in waters
8
of the United States only in the Virgin Islands shall not
9

be subject to inspection under section 3301(8) of this title

if it carries no more than 12 passengers.’’.
