UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS 
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 
 
 
Purpose: To Lift the Moratorium on Restructuring of the University as recommended by the 
Planning Committee of the Board. 
 
 
WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands implemented successive restructuring of its 
organization over a period of several years prior to 2007; and 
 
WHEREAS, in 2007, the Board of Trustees imposed a moratorium on restructuring of the 
University; and 
 
WHEREAS, the faculty, staff, students, and the administration of the University have requested 
the lifting of the moratorium imposed in 2007; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Cabinet has agreed on the lifting of the moratorium on restructuring at the 
University; and 
 
WHEREAS, on February 19, 2010, the Planning Committee of the Board of Trustees approved 
the request to lift the moratorium on restructuring imposed in 2007 and recommended to the 
Board of Trustees that the moratorium be lifted; 
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 
OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT: 
 
1. The Moratorium on Restructuring of the University imposed in 2007 is hereby removed. 
 
2. This resolution shall become effective March 13, 2010.

Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands and adopted at its meeting on 
Saturday, March 13, 2010, as recorded in the Minutes of the said meeting.
