As had been pre-arranged and announced, . a review of Red Cross activi- ties in and for this island was a feature of the evening, Mr. R. W. Skeoch ad- dressing the auadience in place of the chairman, Mr. F. Coulter, *‘who was absent through illness. Mr. Skeoch recounted details to show that the money collected here b’ the Red Cross was actaally used in the is- land, and encouraged all those who might be otherwise impressed to be convinced of the fact and join in mak- ing the present driv: a successful one. Court Proceedings. The District Court opened at 10 a. m. on Tuesday Jan. 24th 1922. The tollowing cases were taken up: People vs. Alfred Clarke, Jan:es Rol- lins and John Seally; arraigned charged with larceny of sugar &ec. from Bethle- hem storeroom. Pleaded guilty. Alfred Clarke sentenced to five years and one day with suspendea sentence. James Rollins and John Seally sentenced to five years and 1 day respectively. Court adjourned at 11.30 until 10 a. m. Wednesday 25th. Wednesday 25th., 10 a. m. People vs. George Wultf, aged 17, charged with rape on- Elfancene Utten- dahl, aged 15. Jury returned a verdict of nor guilty. Digcharged.
