An act amending title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, section 458 relating to continuing 
education and requiring that any person holding a cosmetologist, barber, esthetician, nail 
technician, natural hair stylist, or apprentice license, complete a minimum of six hours of board-
approved continuing education with at least one hour of coursework relating to sanitation of

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, section 458 is amended by adding

subsection (g):

“(g) Prior to January 31 of each year, every licensee under this chapter, as a condition 
4 
for renewal of a license, shall complete a minimum of six hours of board-approved continuing 
5 
education with at least one hour of coursework relating to sanitation of tools and equipment.”

BILL SUMMARY

This bill amends title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, section 458(g) by requiring that

a person holding a license as a cosmetologist, barber, esthetician, nail technician, natural hair

stylist, or apprentice, complete a minimum of six hours of Board-approved continuing
