In accordance with the Memorandum of Interdivisional
Coordination between the Emergency and Remedial Response
Division (ERRD) and the Water Management Division (WMD) and as
requested in your memo of July 24, 1995, WMD has reviewed the
above subject document from the perspective of the water
programs. We have the following comments:
WMD concurs with the preferred soil remediation alternatives
(SRA 3/4: Institutional Controls/Capping/In-situ Soil Vapor
Extraction /Excavation/Off-Site Disposal/On-Site Disposal) and
the ground water remediation alternative(GWA 4: Institutional
Controls/Source and Plume Containment/Treatment/Discharge) but
with the following proviso:
Well decommissioning, construction, and discharge procedures
should be in accordance with state and federal requirements.
