QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: 
 
• Question: Task 1:  Network Assessment 
o How many network segments make up VIPD’s network?   
Answer: There is approximately 24 segments that make up the 
VIPD network. 
 
o Could VIPD provide a rough estimate as to the number of nodes 
they believe exist across their network segments? 
Answer: There is approximately 400 nodes across the VIPD 
network. 
 
• Question: Task 10:  Wireless Access 
o How many network locations within the VIPD network will have 
wireless access enabled, and which ones specifically? 
Answer: VIPD’s 24 sites will be required to have wireless access. 
 
• Question: Task 13:  UPS Repair/Upgrade 
o What are the current make/model(s) of the existing UPS that 
need to be repaired/upgraded and their backup capability 
expanded? 
Answer: The current model of the UPS is a APC Symettra LX 
1600. The expansion capabilities of the current UPS will need to 
be researched and assessed. 
 
• Question: Task 15:  IT Staff Training 
o How many IT staff members are expected to receive training? 
  
Answer: We will need 5 IT personnel to be trained.
