Discount Car Rental & Sales, Inc. is pleased to offer its support for Bill No. 36-0303,

which updates the child passenger safety notification requirements for rental vehicles

under 20 V.I.C. § 424.



As a rental car operator serving St. Thomas & St. John, we always advise our customers

to buckle up and to use a car seat for any child under the age of five. This bill takes that

commitment a step further by ensuring renters receive complete, up-to-date information

on the Virgin Islands' Child Passenger Safety Law. Providing a copy of the law, along

with a written acknowledgment of receipt, is simple to implement and a practical step

that will help keep both residents and visitors safer on our roads.



We appreciate the Senator's efforts to modernize this requirement in a way that is

workable for the rental car industry, and we are glad to support this legislation.
