increasing the minimum salary amount for teachers from $3,200 per annum to $60,000 per

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 25, subchapter V is amended as

follows:

(a) 
In the second occurrence of section 551, strike the title “Purpose and Coverage” 
4 
and insert “Pay Plan”;  
5 
(b) 
In the second occurrence of section 551, Schedule III, paragraph (1), strike 
6 
“$3,200” and insert “$60,000”; and  
7 
(c) 
Re-designate the second occurrence of section 551 as section 551e.

SECTION 2.  Section 1 takes effect at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year.
