October,
and
are
to be completed
by 31st
December.
The inspection
to take place
sometime
early in January.
Last
year
the
inspec-
tion
was
deferred
until
Ist
March,
and
due
to
recent
evenis,
noatably
the
strike, it
‘s perhaps
only reasonable
that
the
same
time be
given
to
complete
re-
pairs.
It
must
be
admitted
that
much
has
been
conceded
the
Road-holders,
and
much
grace
given; but
it is also
evident
that
the
work
of repairs
is
in
many
cases,
absolutely
neglected.
Some
have
done their duty,
others
seem
to shirk it.
For
the
benefit
of
those
who
may
never have read
the Road Ordinance,
and
for
those
who
have read and forgotten,
the following paragraphs
are quoted:
§ 24.
Any holder of a road
allotment,
who is
found,
at
the
annual
inspection
in
the
month
of January,
to
havz
omitted
to
complete
the
road-work
incumbent
nn
him,
or to have performed
it in an
unsat-
isfactory
manner,
:s liable
to a fine
not
exceeding
SSO.
§

Any
holder
of
a
road
allotment
who
fails
to comply
with an order
{rom
the
properly qualified Officer
or authority,
at
any
time
soever
in
the ysar,
concerning
the
repairing
of
his
road-ailotment
or
anything belonging
thereto,
is liable to
a
fine
not exceeding
$25.
The
same
fine
shall
be
adjudged
against
any
person
omitting
to plant
the bound-posts
men-
tioned in § 12.
The
exaet
time of inspection
will be
published
later.
It is
especially
desired
that
the
boundary
poszis
have
the
full
name
of
holder
inscribed
thereon,
as
published
some
time
before;
and
will
be
enacted.
