very

eficial

island

travel

island

other.

year
when
we
had
the

the
only
means
Government
bad

was
to
use
up
our
Reserve
Fund,

would not like to se2

again.

If Government wishes
to
have
the

passed
today,
I
recommend
that

members
vote for the amendment
which

I have proposed;
otherwise

that the budget
remains
open
un-
til the Road
Dzpartment
finds
out

it is going to do.
I think
now is the
pro-

to
ask
for
a
sum
of money
to
put
the roads
in order.
The

that the Government
Secretary
‘does
not
feel
justified
to
make
answer
to
this
question
for the Governor today.
If the
Honorable
Member
presses
his
point,
it
would be better
to postpone

passage

budget
and give

chance
to study

question.

looked
into
this
matter
and
we found
that
it
would
ex-
pedite
matters
if
money
could
be avail-
able

once
so
put
the
detours
to the
centerline
in
order
before
the
work on
the centerline
itself
is
begun;
we
went
on
horse
back
and
found that
it would
"be
necessary
to
make
repairs
to
some
sections
of
the southside
roads
that
it
can
be
used
while
the
center
line is
un-
dergoing repairs.

recommend
tiat the
amount
asked
for be granted,
Government
Secrefary
Timmons

With
regard
to the amount I have
no
reason
to believe
that
it wouldn’t
be approved;
my
reason
for
askine

held

abeyance

Commission
sends
