CIB Arrested Man Who Allegedly Broke into Residence  
and Attempted to Sexually Assault Female  
St. Croix, USVI - On Monday, July 17, 2023, at approximately 6:26 a.m., the 911 
Emergency Call Center received a report of a burglary in progress. The caller relayed to the 
911 Dispatcher that Osei Edwards entered her residence and attempted to sexually assault 
her. The victim stated that she grabbed a knife in an attempt to defend herself. 
Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded and investigated this matter. The 
victim identified Mr. Osei Edwards as the individual who broke and entered her residence 
without permission, and attempted to sexually assault her while she was asleep on her bed. 
Detectives made contact with Mr. Osei Edwards, he was advised of his Miranda Rights and 
admitted that he went to the victim’s residence to retrieve something. Mr. Osei Edwards, 23-
year-old was placed under arrest, booked and unable to post his bail that was set in the 
amount of $75,000.00. He was charged with Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Sexual 
Contact First, Unlawful Entry, Simple Assault & Battery, and Destruction to Property.  He 
was then transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights 
Hearing at the Superior Court for July 19, 2023.
