Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 18 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, section 6 is amended by striking

“date of” and inserting “first date of early voting in”.

BILL SUMMARY

This bill amends title 18 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, section 6 by changing the date 
5 
for which amendments to title 18 of the Virgin Islands Code can be made without a court order.

Under current law, no amendments can be made to title 18 for a period of six months preceding 
7 
the date of a general election. This bill changes the date from six months preceding the general 
8 
election to six months preceding the first date of early voting in a general election.
