UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

BOARD OF TRUSTEES RESOLUTION



Authorizing the University to plan, construct, and complete a 6,032 square foot

Wellness Center on the St. Thomas Campus.



WHEREAS, the Weliness Center will promote a culture of wellness among students,

faculty, staff, and alumni, and



WHEREAS, the Wellness Center will house a weight and aerobic area, dance studio,

and commuter lounge, and



WHEREAS, the Wellness Center will be utilized by students, faculty, staff, and alumni,

and



WHEREAS, the Wellness Center supports the UVI Master Plan to provide lounge and

meeting space for students on the lower campus, and



WHEREAS, the Wellness Center is linked to the objectives outlined in VISION 2012,



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE

UNIVERSITY APPROVES:



7: The University Administration to plan, construct and complete the



proposed 6,032 square foot Wellness Center on the St. Thomas campus,

and



2. That this resolution shall become effective March 11, 2006.
