the

for grain
and checking

movenietit from Canada,

Dec. 17th.—The

17th.—The
reports
of
the
LabouriCommission’s
finquiry into
conditions
inIreland
made public yester-
day
declared that
eye witnesses
to the
“burning
of Cork ‘‘are unanimous
in stat-
ing
that the fires were caused
by
crown
forces’’.
The
results ¢f
the
inqury
were offiecially presented
yesterday
at
a
joint meeting of the National
Executive
and the Parliamentary
Labour
Party and
it
was decided
that a
commitree
should
wait on
the Premier
to
urge
further ef-
forts
for a truce
in Ireland.
The
report
says,
‘A number
of
witnesses
inter-
viewed are prepared,
if given
adequate
guarantees
for their
future
safety,
to
substantiate
on oath’’, this
statement
of
fact
as
presented.
The. destruetion
is
declared
to have
been systematic,
incen-
~diaries having sought out
the most
valu-
able
premises
in the
town and
put
into
,ex‘écution
a rreconceived
plan.
It
is
further
charged
the fires
were
started
only after the crown
forces
hal
forced
the
people
in
doors.
The
Commis-
sion
says,
‘‘shortly
before
9
o’clock
auxiliary police and black and

peared
in
a large
number
of streets
in
the city,
and at
