Re: Objection to Rezoning Application CCZP0069-25 (Parcel 6a Beeston Hill)



Dear Ms. LaPlace-Matthew,



We have lived on St. Croix for 5 years and are both proud, active members of this community as a nurse

practitioner and a dentist working and serving in our community.



We strongly object to rezoning Parcel 6a Beeston Hill from R-1 (Residential — Low Density) to B-2

(Business — Secondary/Neighborhood). While we support a housing development on this parcel,

rezoning all 15.94 acres to B-2 would put this land at risk for commercial use rather than preserving it

for homes.



The right and privilege of all Virgin Islanders to have residential lands preserved must be safeguarded

for those here today, those seeking to return home, and for future generations. Housing development

is already permitted under the existing residential zoning. A B-2 designation is unnecessary and opens

the door to commercial development that will erode the availability of residential land.



| respectfully urge DPNR to deny the B-2 rezoning request and instead preserve Parcel 6a Beeston Hill

for residential use, thereby safeguarding the privilege of Virgin Islanders to access and enjoy land

intended for housing.
