ACTION TAKEN:  The Board of Trustees approved a service agreement with 
Level Playing Field to provide instructional course design, technology 
infrastructure and academic support for online course design. 
 
Background 
President Hall provided a brief overview and the rationale of the proposed 
agreement for the University engaging in an online degree program with 
Grantham University and Level Playing Field (LPF).  President Hall provided to 
the Board several reasons for using this partnership. 
   
He stated that Grantham University and LPF was a reputable organization with 
a strong service mission and low cost provider.  They had 60 years of 
experience with online education. He added that they were ahead of UVI in 
Educational Assessment and Degree Quest and that they have a strong 
technology infrastructure.  He concluded that they were a flexible and 
compatible partner and has numerous degree offerings that were not available 
at UVI.
