Virgin Islands Oncology & Hematology, PC 9150 Estate Thomas, Suite 105 St Thomas, VI 00802 (340)626-9668 hobdy@vioandh.com To: Senator Carla Joseph, Chair Committee on Rules and Judiciary 36th Legislature of the Virgin Islands I have known Attorney Pedro Williams both personally and professionally for over ten years. On a personal level, he is a family friend and fellow church brother. We both attend St Thomas Assembly of God church, where he assumes multiple roles as Board member and church Administrator. He is a family man who not only cares for his own family but cares deeply for other families as well. He is very involved in the youth programs and is a mentor to many young men. Despite his busy schedule, for many years he has been picking up young people, including my sons, on Friday nights to take them to church activities. He is an exemplary leader who is very dedicated and hard-working, and he is a man of the highest integrity. On a professional level, I have had the privilege of working with Attorney Williams as a member of the Medical Review Committee for review of disability cases for the Government Employee Retirement System (GERS). He is very knowledgeable and professional in his role as GERS Board Counsel. He is very helpful in lending his legal knowledge and expertise in reviewing these cases and he exercises sound judgement. He exudes a cool and calm demeanor which makes it very easy to communicate and work with him. I believe Attorney Williams has the knowledge, expertise, wisdom, demeanor and character required to assume the role of Judge on the Virgin Islands Superior Court of St Thomas-St John. It is without reservation that I write this letter in support of Attorney Williams. I have no doubt that he will be an excellent Judge and will definitely be an asset to the Virgin Islands community serving in that capacity. Sincerely, Erole McLean Hobdy, MD Medical Oncologist/Hematologist
