An Act amending title 23 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 19, subchapter III, section 1556 relating 
to the retirement from the National Guard to increase the retirement pension

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 23 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 19, subchapter III, section 1556,

subsection (a) is amended by striking “one hundred dollars” and inserting “$350” and by 
3 
inserting after the first sentence the following: “The Adjutant General shall increase the pension 
4 
annuity every five years to reflect the changes in the Consumer Price Index as established by the 
5 
U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics for “All Items, All Urban Consumers (1967-
6 
100%).”

BILL SUMMARY 
8 
The bill increases the retirement pension for the National Guard from $100 to $350 per 
9 
month and providing for cost of living increase every five years in accordance with the 
10 
Consumer Price Index.
