An Act amending title 33 Virgin Islands Code, subtitle 3, chapter 111, section 3080 by limiting

the salary amount used to compute the service retirement annuity for the Governor and the

Lieutenant Governor of the Virgin Islands

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1. Title 33 Virgin Islands Code, subtitle 3, chapter 111, section 3080 is

amended in the following instances:

(a) In subsection (f):

{1} insert “and subject to the limitations set forth in subsection (g)” after

“Notwithstanding his age”:

(2) strike “the” after “Lieutenant Governor's” in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c); and

(3) re-designate paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) as paragraphs (1), (2), and (3},

respectively.



(b) Add the following subsection (g):

“(g) The salary used to compute the annuity in subsection (f) must not exceed

$150,000 per annum for the Governor and $125,000 per annum for the Lieutenant

Governor.”

BILL SUMMARY

The bill amends title 33 Virgin Islands Code, subtitle 3, chapter 111, section 3080 by

limiting the salary used to compute the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor’s service



retirement annuity. The salary used to compute the Governor’s annuity must not exceed



$150,000 per annum and the salary used to compute the Lieutenant Governor’s salary must not



exceed $125,000 per annum.
