St. Thomas Office 8666 Lindbergh Bay, 2nd Floor St. Thomas, VI 00802 (340) 718-2020 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 4, 2020 Census 2020 Offices Closed Through April 30th (Charlotte Amalie and Christiansted, US Virgin Islands – April 4, 2020) - Census 2020 offices on St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix will be closed through April 30th. Office and field staff will obey the Virgin Islands Government’s extension of an emergency stay-at-home order until further notice. According to Dr. Frank Mills, manager of the St. Thomas and St. John offices of Census 2020 US Virgin Islands, Census supervisors are authorized to ask essential Census office workers to report to work on an as-needed basis. Previously, Census 2020 US Virgin Islands staff was asked to remain at home through April 6th. Census 2020 US Virgin Islands is conducted by the University of the Virgin Islands on behalf of the Virgin Islands Government. During a virtual UVI Town Hall yesterday, UVI President David Hall reiterated a previous communication he issued saying that all full time and part-time UVI employees will be paid. Dr. Mills said that in keeping with the UVI directive, all Census 2020 office employees will be compensated at their usual rate of pay through April 30.
