ST. THOMAS- ST. JOHN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING 
 
The Virgin Islands Historic Preservation Commission’s St. Thomas-St. John Historic Preservation 
Committee (STT-STJHPC) announces that it will hold special meetings to discuss the full 
implementation of the Cruz Bay Historic District rules and regulations for private properties, lease 
properties, and governmental properties.   The special meetings will take place on Thursday, October 
12, 2023, from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Legislature of the Virgin Islands’ Cleone Creque Legislative 
Conference Room in Cruz Bay, St. John.   
 
The Cruz Bay Historic District was established in 2017, but the full implementation of its rules and 
regulations has not been mandated to the full extent of the law.  The STT-STJHPC as it prepares for 
full implementation of the Cruz Bay Historic District rules and regulations are having these meetings 
to discuss with private property owners, lease holders, business owners, and Government of the 
Virgin Islands agency/property managers the requirements for exterior signage, paint colors, new 
windows and doors, exterior enhancements/alterations to buildings, and new construction.
