JOINT BOARDS OF ELECTIONS TO HOLD A SPECIAL SESSION  
AND EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP 
        
 
  
    On Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the St. Croix Cardiac Center the Joint Boards 
of Elections will hold a Special Session starting at 3pm. Following the Special Session 
the Joint Boards will take part in an educational workshop in the form of a three-day 
advance. “Directly after the November election and the formal swearing in of the 
successful candidates the following January, it has been the custom to a 
retreat/training session for the members of the Joint Boards.  The last time this took 
place was in 2008 on St. John,” states Joint Boards Chairperson Alecia M. Wells.   
    
 “It is important for the Joint Board members to get together in an informal session 
to discuss the policies and procedures, the governance issues, each board member's 
responsibilities, parliamentary procedures, and more importantly the DS200 and the 
preparation for the upcoming Election cycle. This is also a time for bonding and 
informal dialogue.  We have had a tumultuous year, and with the season of giving, joy, 
happiness and peace, what better way to heal and move on, than by conducting a year-
end workshop bringing all of us together,” states Joint Boards Chairperson Alecia M. 
Wells.
